NIO means the representation of two guardians, normally represented in the shape of two invincible warriors in the entrance of many shrines in Japan, China and Korea. They represent the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, the birth and the death. One has his mouth open, and the other his mouth closed. One gives life, the other takes it off. They are in balance, fully conscious of their destiny as warriors.
